Machine learning (ML) technologies are emerging across all industries. The potential benefits in the optical transmission and networking sector include enhancing fiber link capacity, reducing operational costs, optimizing resource usage, and supporting new services. This workshop aims to discuss and clarify the opportunities and risks that ML-driven solutions present.
Danish Rafique’s contribution to the debate will cover the drivers and application space for artificial intelligence (AI) and its architectural integration into today’s end-to-end network management stack. In particular, he will explore predictive maintenance and resource optimization use cases.
